Package Group vs Download vs Package
#1
The wiki instructions are very hard to follow - unfortunately, the English descriptions use incorrect grammar which makes these unfamiliar concepts difficult to understand.

Please provide an example of each so we know how to setup our products. For example, if we have a program (Password Resetter), and we want to sell trial, single server, and unlimited copies, and the program consists of config.php and reset.php - how would we set this up using your organization structure of Package Groups, Downloads, and Packages?
More convolution ... might as well add Download Group to the list of terms that needs a real example. The example in the wiki is so contrived that it just adds to the confusion. For example, it says 'imagine you have a package named 'lite' ... so you name the download group 'lite' and then you assign your 'lite' product to the 'lite' download group - then assign downloads to the group 'lite'. In a single example we have a package, a dowload group, and a product all named 'lite' ... what??? In order to make any sense out of this, please use the file example we provided above and tell us what a Download Group might be called in our example.

We apologize for wiki, as we are working on v2. which is completely different, we wanted to update wiki when v2. is released.

Package group (renamed to Product Group in v2.) means you can have multiple products uner a group and you can access each group on /packages.php?id=1, packages.php?id=2 etc, in front-end. For each product you can have mutiple downloads, for example we did set free PHPLicengine version as group 1 and paid version as group 2, if you buy paid version, you can have access not only PHPLicengine product itself, but there are some other downloads for paid version such as language packs, SourceGuardian version etc., that is what 'download setting' does for each individual product you'd set for each product group. and 'package' should be set for your product, assigning license type, prices etc. as about download setting, if you don't have different .zip files for one products such as language packs etc., just add one download record.
Thank you,
PHPLicengine Management

It is still a little unclear. Here is our understanding so far:
A package group (Email Products) has multiple products (Password Reset Tool, Mail Manager, etc.).
Products have multiple Download Categories (Free, Single Server, Unlimited, etc.)
If we have that correct, then what is Download Group (under Download Manager)?

Yes, you understood well so far.

We did create two 'Download Group', one is 'beta', one is 'stable'.
Then in 'Setup Package' we created two packages, one is for free package assigned to package group 1, and assigned that package to download group 'beta', another package is set for paid version assigned to package group 2, and assigned that package to download group beta.
In download category, we have 'Language Pack', 'Update Patch', 'Full Pakcage' etc.
In Download manager, you can have multiple downloads for each individual product, imagin you have two downloads assigned to 'stable' download group, and one download is assigned to full package category, and another one is assigned to Language pack download category.
Now if someone order for free version (whose download group is beta), they cannot download our language packs, because our language packs are assigned to stable download group, and to access this download group, they should buy the paid version (because it is assigned to stable download group.)

we highly recommend you configure your system by following links on configuration page in order. becuase for example you cannot setup download manager, without setting up a download group first, that its link is upper than download manager. We sorted links on configuration page based on dependencies.

Does it help?
Thank you,
